PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The National Weather Service in Portland on Sunday warned about an increased sneaker wave threat through Tuesday.
According to the NWS, sneaker waves can run up the beach further than expected and can sweep people off their feet and into the ocean.
During times of higher risk for the waves, the NWS is warning people to avoid climbing on rocks, jetties and logs. And to always keep an eye on the ocean.
