SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho – Voters in Shoshone County will soon decide on two significant ballot items affecting local education and law enforcement funding.

The Wallace School District is proposing a supplemental levy exceeding one million dollars for two years. If approved, property owners would pay $222 per $100,000 of assessed value. This levy would support about 13 teachers, 15 staff members and extracurricular activities, including bus drivers.

Superintendent Todd Howard emphasized the importance of the levy.

“The majority of the things that we use our supplemental levy for is staffing. It helps provide additional elective courses at the Jr/Sr High level,” said Howard.
