A large majority of consumers planned their Diwali shopping around credit card offers this year, signalling a shift toward value-conscious festive spending. According to a survey by Paisabazaar, 91% of respondents timed their purchases to coincide with card-linked deals and rewards, while fewer than one in ten said they shopped without waiting for specific offers.

The survey, which covered over 2,300 credit card users, found that 42% spent more than ₹50,000 on festive shopping.

Within this group, 22% spent between ₹50,000 and ₹1 lakh, and another 20% crossed the ₹1 lakh mark.

The findings suggest that high-value purchases are being made through credit cards, often supported by cashback and EMI incentives.
