FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) -- A Florence woman is facing charges after she allegedly abandoned her vehicle and it was hit by an Amtrak train in September, police said.
Sydney Nicole Jones, 35, was arrested Monday and charged with obstructing a railroad in connection with the Sept. 13 crash at the crossing at S. Barringer Street and National Cemetery Road.
Police said Jones failed to call 911 or notify CSX after abandoning her vehicle when it became stuck on the railroad tracks. No one was hurt in the incident.
According to an arrest warrant, Jones admitted to intentionally leaving the vehicle on the tracks.
She posted a personal recognizance bond and was released from the Florence County Detention Center, according to online jail records.
