MOODY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Moody Fire Department has lifted the outdoor burning ban previously in place within the city limits.

The city of Moody imposed the burn ban at the end of September after the Alabama Forestry Commission announced a Fire Danger Advisory.

Moody Fire & Rescue says although permitted outdoor burning activities can resume, people should continue to exercise caution and follow safe practices.

If you plan to burn permitted items including brush piles, debris, leaf and yard waste, Moody Fire & Rescue want to remind you of the following:

Check local weather conditions and avoid windy/dry days.

Maintain sufficient clearing around the burn area and keep fire-extinguishing on hand.

Stay with the fire until fully extinguished.
