While Susan Dean wasn't known to rock a stage, she was undoubtedly a force of nature in the kitchen. In 1983, her weather-inspired dish won first prize in the Montgomery Advertiser cookbook contest for the seafood category.

Turns out, Dean invented her Thunderstorm Sole recipe during an actual heavy storm in Montgomery. It was born of circumstances and necessity, using stuff she already had at home. I don't blame her for not wanting to get out and shop for dinner in bad weather.
