The Sault Ste. Marie native joined the Maroons in 2014-15 for his final season of junior hockey. Article content Article content

His teammates included current Maroons head coach and general manager Brennan Feasey and assistant coach Steven Szekesy.

“He was a great guy,” Feasey said. “I remember him coming in. All the boys loved him. Really personable guy. Always had a smile on his face coming to the rink here.”

Patterson helped the Maroons to a second-place finish in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Western Conference by going 11-5-1-0 with a 3.16 goals-against average and .901 save percentage.
