Yellowstone National Park officials announced on Sunday that all roads within the park south of Mammoth Hot Springs would close to public access following weather-related traffic incidents.

According to park officials, Yellowstone staff responded to more than 30 motor vehicle accidents, stranded vehicles and slides offs in various areas of the park due to snowy and icy conditions. The closure was implemented to give road crews time to address safety concerns along the roadways.
