PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A suspect is in custody after a 70-year-old man was stabbed Monday afternoon in Providence.

According to police, the victim was stabbed multiple times in the neck at the Saint Elizabeth Apartments senior living complex off Westminster Street. He was treated at the scene before being taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

Police said a 79-year-old man was arrested and taken to police headquarters. Both men live in the same building, police added.

Crime scene tape could be seen near All Saints Memorial Church, close to Classical High School. The incident remains under investigation. 12 News has a crew at the scene, working to learn more information.
