FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced plans Monday to hold a special legislative session next week to discuss mid-decade redistricting.
Braun said in a statement he’s calling the session to “protect Hoosiers from efforts in other states that seek to diminish their voice in Washington and ensure their representation in Congress is fair.”
The topic has been under discussion for months. Vice President JD Vance visited Indiana twice to discuss redistricting, and President Donald Trump talked directly with Indiana Senate Republicans about the possibility.
Democratic and Republican lawmakers disagree on the session’s purpose.
