A severe cyclonic storm, Cyclone Montha is moving towards the east coast of India, with landfall expected near Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday afternoon. According to the latest satellite and radar data, the cyclone will bring very heavy rainfall and strong winds to Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada, Machilipatnam, Visakhapatnam, Odisha's Bhubaneswar and nearby coastal belts and Tamil Nadu, particularly northern regions including Chennai. Authorities have urged residents in coastal regions to stay indoors, avoid beaches and open areas, and to follow official advisories closely. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rain, potential flooding, and high tidal waves in vulnerable regions.
