LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Kentucky’s Junior Senator, Republican Rand Paul, was in Louisville Monday visiting BAE Systems, off Rochester Drive. The company makes weapons systems for the U.S. Navy.
The meeting was closed to the press, but Sen. Paul did speak to reporters afterward and talked about the ongoing government shutdown, now in its fourth week.
He says the government should reopen, sooner rather than later, and that it could happen in a couple of different ways.
“You can put them all together under one bill, called a continuing resolution, and we can vote on them individually, 12 different components of government, one at a time,” Paul said. “I do think there is a compromise to be had.
