SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame’s second bye week of the season came at the perfect time, as it gave several players a chance to get healthy.
But this team has taken heavy hits on both the offensive and defensive line, and one player still out this week is senior defensive tackle Gabriel Rubio.
Rubio was ruled out before the USC game with a left arm injury. He leads all Irish defensive tackles with 173 snaps.
There is currently no timeline for his return, but head coach Marcus Freeman spoke about the confidence within the interior of the defensive line during his news conference on Monday .
“At some point we plan on getting him back before the season is over. Don’t have a great timeline for when that’s going to be, but we believe it will be before the season is over,” Freeman
