MAINE, USA — Once again, the primary care providers for about 30,000 Mainers are about to go out of network on Friday. Northern Light Health and Anthem Insurance extended their original Oct. 1 deadline by 30 days but have yet to announce a deal after weeks of mediation.

Northern Light Health’s new CEO, Dr. Guy Hudson, spoke with NEWS CENTER Maine in mid-October , expressing optimism about resolving with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

“If you look at Northern Light Health, and you look at our partnership with Anthem,” Hudson said, “I am very positive that we will get to an agreement and resolution of our current situation, and we're talking almost every day.”

That optimism has not brought a deal, dragging out the negotiation process for another month and leaving Mainers concerned.
