CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — On Monday, 14 jurors were selected to hear a difficult case involving a Clarksville woman accused of starving her 13-year-old son to death.

In July of 2022, Kadaris Maddox, who suffered from cerebral palsy, was found unresponsive by police at their family home on Virginia Terrace. Former Clarksville Police Department detective Bryan Hughes described Kadaris’ muscle mass as nonexistent.

Kadaris’ mother, Cheyenne Maddox, told News 2 during a previous jailhouse interview that she believed Kadaris accidentally suffocated himself with a blanket.

However, an autopsy revealed Kadaris was just 35 pounds when he died, with the report blaming his death on malnutrition and calling the manner suspecte
