Bhubaneswar : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for several districts in Odisha, predicting light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds of 40-50 kmph in the next three hours.
According to the The affected districts include Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapada. These districts have been issued yellow warning.
Residents in these areas are advised to keep a close watch on the weather for worsening conditions.
Meanwhile, Cyclone Montha is intensifying over the Bay of Bengal and is expected to make landfall near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh today. The Odisha government has put all 30 districts on alert, with disaster management teams and rescue forces on standby.
