NEW ORLEANS —
first proposed in 2004 and finally set to launch this year, appeared on a list of potential cuts during the City Planning Commission’s budget hearing on Monday. The department’s Executive Director, Bob Rivers, told council members the Cantrell Administration had proposed it.
"Once again, it seems to be a pattern with this administration," Councilmember Oliver Thomas replied. "Somebody in this administration decided to cut the people who have been cut and cut out for far too long."
The plan would evaluate every parcel of land in New Orleans East, gather community feedback, and review past studies of the area to guide future development.
