SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Gas prices in Springfield have dropped to an average of $2.86 per gallon, marking a slight decrease over the past week.
According to Gas Buddy, the average price of gas in Springfield is now 10.1 cents lower than a month ago and 3.2 cents lower than a year ago.
Gerry O'Malley, a driver from Easthampton, noted the decrease in gas prices, saying, "I just filled up this afternoon over at Costco and there has been a slight decrease in the price, which is good."
The national average price of gas has risen 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.00 per gallon.
