Amazon to cut 30,000 jobs' and replace roles with AI 'from this week' View Image
Amazon is reportedly set to slash up to 30,000 corporate jobs from this week. The tech behemoth based in Seattle is said to be reversing its hiring surge during the height of the pandemic.
Chief Andy Jassy had previously cautioned employees about the potential for certain roles within the company to be supplanted by artificial intelligence (AI). It's anticipated that Amazon will target divisions worldwide including human resources, operations, devices and services, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), as per reports from Reuters and the Wall Street Journal.
AWS, the world's leading cloud computing provider, offers a broad range of services, encompassing storage, databases, machine learning, and security tools.
