HOUSTON, Texas – All mainlanes on the Katy Freeway at Washingtown Avenue are currently shut down due to a deadly crash that happened overnight.
Houston police and firefighters responded to the crash around midnight and found two vehicles on the right shoulder. Officers said one vehicle was on fire, and the second vehicle, a Cybertruck, had the front completely ripped off and was facing the wrong way.
According to reports, the driver of a BMW was traveling the wrong way on the freeway when they crashed head-on with the driver of the Cybertruck. The Cybertruck then crashed into an 18-wheeler, and the driver of the BMW hit the shoulder of the freeway and caught fire.
