Medicine Hat’s Nate Vossler competed at the Elite Provincials boxing tournament in Calgary.
Vossler received a bye into the semifinals and boxed Jim Pasibe from Humble Boxing. It was his first match as a senior and he boxed well, coach Kerry Fahlman says, but the local boxer lost the match.
Despite the result, he still qualifies for the U23 nationals in March.
Medicine Hat’s Rylan McCulloch fought during the same weekend, competing at the Bronze Gloves where he lost to Khalil Jaber from Wainwright who went on to win best Male boxer.
