Nagpur : In a heartbreaking reminder of the growing man-animal conflict in Vidarbha, a 67-year-old woman was killed in a tiger attack while working in a cotton field near Deolapar in Ramtek tehsil on Tuesday morning, October 28.

The victim, identified as Vimla Kashinath Einwate, a resident of Lohdongri village, was picking cotton in a field at Survey No. 268/2, Plot No. 29, Mouza Deolapar, around 9:10 am when a tiger emerged from the adjoining reserved forest (Compartment No. 581) and pounced on her, dragging her into the forest. She died on the spot due to grievous injuries.
