State police are looking for a driver they say took off from a crash on Route 2 in Preston on Monday night that seriously injured a pedestrian.
The vehicle believed to be involved was described as possibly a BMW X series made between 2019 and 2025, according to Connecticut State Police .
State police said troopers responded to the report of a crash involving a pedestrian and found that the driver had taken off. The condition of the pedestrian was not immediately clear.
The state police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Squad responded to the scene to investigate. The road was closed while crews were at the scene and later reopened.
