A bloke who noticed an intriguing marking on an Ordnance Survey map from the 1850s was left gobsmacked by what he uncovered after hunting down its location. History enthusiast Chris Gledhill travelled to Oxfordshire in search of two spots marked 'Spring' and 'Physic Well' that had caught his eye.
