The state of Texas sued Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue on Tuesday, alleging the companies hid the risks of autism and other disorders if mothers take Tylenol during pregnancy.
The suit comes weeks after President Donald Trump claimed the drug caused autism in children, a link that has not been proven.
“Big Pharma betrayed America by profiting off of pain and pushing pills regardless of the risks. These corporations lied for decades, knowingly endangering millions to line their pockets,” the state’s Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement.
Kenvue, a Johnson & Johnson spinoff company, has made Tylenol since 2023.
