Despite numerous economic and social challenges, Los Angeles County’s real estate still has huge appeal. It has more ZIP codes ranking among America’s priciest places to live than any other U.S. county.
My trusty spreadsheet reviewed PropertyShark’s list of the nation’s 120 priciest ZIP codes, based on the median selling price of condo, co-op, and single- and two-family homes in the nine months through Sept. 30. The study looked at states excluding Montana, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, where sale prices are not fully discernible.
California dominated the rankings, with 73 ZIP codes on the priciest list, followed by New York with 15, Connecticut with 7, New Jersey with 6, and Massachusetts with 5.
At the county level, after Los Angeles County’s 17 came the Bay Area’s Santa Clara County at 1
