The Simpsons showrunner has confirmed their exit after 25 years on the series, ushering in a new era for the long-running animated sitcom. The Simpsons season 37 is currently ongoing, delivering new episodes every Sunday on Fox. The series has been renewed through season 40, each consisting of 15 regular episodes and two Disney+ specials.
However, the series is about to face a big shake-up behind the scenes. In a post on X, Al Jean confirmed he will be exiting The Simpsons as showrunner following season 37, episode 5, "Bad Boys...For Life?" which airs on Sunday, November 2.
