OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The first meeting of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska’s Cannabis Commission was held today to swear in members and appoint officers.

The meeting’s agenda also lists that a review and possible approval of the board’s regulations could also happen today, which would launch Nebraska’s first workable, regulated cannabis industry.

This comes as the State of Nebraska’s own cannabis commission has faced a series of setbacks and backlash from residents.

The Tribe’s commission will have five members, with the Attorney General as a non-voting member.

The members are Secretary Jayzon Hundley, Chairwoman Amanda Hallowell, Allison Stockman, and Arthur Isagholian.
