A 32-year-old man has been convicted in a Birmingham gas station shooting that killed two men, injured a third and narrowly missed a 1-year-old boy.

A Jefferson County jury on Monday found Antonio Shaw guilty of capital murder, two counts of attempted murder and discharging a firearm into a vehicle.

Killed in the shooting were Rikki D’Unri Christopher Bynum, 27, and Joseph Demetrice Robinson, 25. They were longtime best friends and were killed in front of Robinson’s toddler son.

Following the morning verdict, the jury recommended life without the possibility of parole for Shaw on the capital convictions and Jefferson County Circuit Judge Michael Streety followed the jury’s recommendation.
