One person is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting in Killingly late Monday.
The shooting was reported on Pratt Road where troopers responded and found a gunshot victim, according to Connecticut State Police .
The victim was shot in the chest and died from their injury, state police said. They have not been identified.
The Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
According to state police, an individual described as a suspect was taken into custody. They were not immediately identified.
A state police spokesperson said the incident poses “no threat to the public.”
State police said the homicide investigation remains active and ongoing.
