Delhi’s much-awaited artificial rain experiment is yet to yield visible results, with Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa saying the government is waiting for IIT Kanpur’s final report on Tuesday’s cloud seeding trials conducted over several parts of the national capital. He, however, pointed that the trial was conducted despite moisture conditions being far below the typical requirement.

Speaking exclusively to India Today, Sirsa said, “Cloud is mandatory. Generally, we need moisture of over 50%. IIT Kanpur carried out the experiment—we are dependent on them. This trial was done to check if we can do cloud seeding in moisture conditions of 10–15%. Since IIT Kanpur was confident, we went ahead with it. We are waiting for a final report in the evening.”
