WYOMING, Mich. — A new University of Michigan Health-West cancer center is aiming to bring advanced cancer treatments right to West Michigan.
Patients got a look at the first floor of the new Hematology & Cancer Care Building Tuesday after a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Ronald Grifka, president of University of Michigan Health-West, said the organization has been working on acquiring the building for about a year, with the past four months spent on refurbishing.
"In the last year, we've seen our patient volumes quadruple, a tremendous growth, and because of that, we outgrew the building that we had," he said.
The new building has triple the number of exam rooms, making it quicker for patients to get seen.
