CLEVELAND, Ohio – E.A. Sween Co. is recalling about 127,887 pounds of a pulled pork sandwich product that may be contaminated with plastic pieces, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The Eden Prairie, Minnesota, company’s barbecue pulled pork sandwich items were produced between Jan. 13 and Oct. 15 and shipped to retail locations nationwide, including the Department of Defense.

The recalled products are 5.5-ounce paper-wrapped sandwiches - Deli Express BBQ Pulled Pork on a sesame bun.

The products bear EST. 2451 inside the USDA inspection mark.

E.A. Sween Co. determined the plastic originated from gallon plastic barbecue bottles used in production.
