SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Six candidates are running for three open seats on the Shaker Heights Board of Education, with only one incumbent seeking re-election to another four-year term on Nov. 4

The district covers all of Shaker Heights, along with a portion of Cleveland around Shaker Square, with a five-member school board.

All six candidates appeared at an Oct. 9 forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland (LVW-GC) with more than 1,000 views in recent weeks.

Incumbent Lora Cover has over 25 years in education, both as a teacher and a recruiter, more than a decade of that with Teach for America, then as chief talent officer for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
