PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - The Salvation Army of Paducah launched an emergency food campaign in response to a rise in local food-assistance requests.

According to the group, the number of requests are sometimes three to five times higher than usual levels in recent weeks.

They launched “Feed Hope. Share Love” to help.

“With grocery and utility prices continuing to strain family budgets, we’re seeing many of our neighbors turning to us for the first time,” Major Pat Towne, corps officer of The Salvation Army of Paducah, said in a news release. “Our faith calls us to feed the hungry and serve those in need, and we’re confident our community will come together once again to make that possible.”
