In a proactive move to ensure the state’s readiness for the impending severe cyclonic storm, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC) control room today, where he conducted a thorough review and held discussions on preparations for Cyclone Montha.
The visit comes as Cyclone Montha made landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast this evening, with significant impacts anticipated in southern Odisha.
Under the cyclone’s influence, coastal areas in Odisha, including Puri, Ganjam, and Jagatsinghpur, are bracing for rough seas and flooding, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting continued heavy rains through October 30 in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and parts of Tamil Nadu.
