BBC have confirmed Doctor Who's future amid concerns it wouldn't continue in "fully committed" statement.

The hit BBC sci-fi series first appeared on our screens back in 1963 and has become a household staple for many across the UK ever since.

William Hartnell was the first ever Doctor who had a three year stint before being replaced by Patrick Troughton. More recent regenerations of the Doctor have seen the likes of David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi take on the role.
