Fort Polk soldier accused of molesting child under 10

LEESVILLE, La. (KPLC) - An active duty soldier is behind bars after allegedly molesting a young child, authorities said.

Jaxon Kingsbury, 24, who is stationed at Fort Polk, was arrested Monday after a child under 10 said they had been touched inappropriately, Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Detective Rhonda Jordan said. The alleged abuse did not happen on base.

Kingsbury faces a charge of molestation of a juvenile. He is held with a bond set at $400,000.

KPLC has reached out to the Army for details of Kingsbury’s service record and whether he is facing disciplinary action. We are awaiting a response.
