It’s been revealed that the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 asked actors to come back into the studio to re-record lines of dialogue so they could include they/them pronouns.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was released in 2023 by Larian Studios and is the most-recent game in the role-playing video series based on Dungeons & Dragons . It was celebrated as “the queerest game of all time” for its inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters and storylines .

The game also consisted of a largely LGBTQ+ cast, such as Karlach voice actor, Samantha Béart (she/they). It was named outstanding video game at the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards.

The Gamer recently spoke to Baldur’s Gate 3 performance director Aliona Baranova about the game’s inclusivity, including the use of they/them pronouns.
