SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The paramedic and pilot on board a helicopter that crashed onto Highway 50 in Sacramento earlier this month have been released from the hospital.
Chad Millward, Margaret Davis and Suzie Smith had just dropped off a patient at UC Davis Medical Center when their REACH helicopter crashed onto the highway minutes later.
All three of them were critically injured and taken to a hospital. No one else was hurt. Eventually, Millward and Davis reached stable condition, but Smith died from her injuries days later.
REACH Air Medical Services said Millward was released from the hospital this week, while Davis was discharged late last week.
"The outpouring of compassion and concern from our community has been a source of strength for all those affected by this month's accident.
