Osseo Area Schools has been ordered to pay $61,500 to the family of a 9-year-old student who was sexually harassed by an assistant principal.

The Minnesota Department of Human Rights announced Tuesday that Osseo Area Schools has agreed to the payment, send the girl a written apology letter, and hold a listening session with the student after it failed to stop the harassment.

The school district must also make changes to stop and prevent future sexual harassment and discrimination, like enforcing new policies and training staff on them.
