WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Textron Aviation announced Tuesday that the Beechcraft M-346N will be produced in Wichita if it is awarded the U.S. Navy's Undergraduate Jet System Training program contract.

The announcement happened at the Textron Aviation East Campus Customer Delivery Center at Central and Greenwich Road.

Travis Tyler, president of Textron Aviation and Defense, said the company plans to invest $38 million to modernize 50,000 square feet of existing manufacturing space if the contract is awarded, and that the contract would create an estimated 100 direct manufacturing jobs.
