KINGSTON, JAMAICA, — Residents in the western part of the island of Jamaica are preparing for the worst as Hurricane Melissa makes landfall as a Category 5 storm.
Those living in the eastern part of the island, like Kingston, are expected to miss the full strength of the storm, but are still preparing for heavy wind and possible power outages.
Spectrum News is on location, and Bryanna Howard reports that some areas of Kingston are currently without power, but that conditions have improved after the area experienced 50-60 mph winds and heavy rain.
