Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has levelled serious charges against India, explicitly blaming New Delhi for the failure of its ceasefire talks with Afghanistan in Istanbul.

Khawaja Asif said India is actively attempting to sabotage the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban regime.

Asif claimed that India is waging a “proxy war via Afghanistan with Pakistan". The accusations are rooted in Islamabad’s belief that New Delhi is deeply involved in Kabul’s internal affairs, using its position to finance opposition groups.

He said Islamabad harbours “no doubts" that India is “financing proxies against Pakistan through Kabul". He accused New Delhi of “penetrating Kabul’s affairs".
