The 1-7 Saints are handing the keys of the offense to rookie quarterback Tyler Shough. New Orleans coach Kellen Moore informed Spencer Rattler and Shough of the change on Tuesday. Shough replaced Rattler late in the third quarter of last weekend's 23-3 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Shough will make his first start, with Rattler as his backup, when the Saints visit the Los Angeles Rams (5-2) on Sunday. A second-round pick in April out of Louisville, Shough was selected 40th overall and competing for the starting job in training camp. Rattler was a fifth-rounder in 2024 out of South Carolina.
