Members of the Khati community staged a vociferous protest at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Indore on Tuesday, voicing grievances over what they perceive as a lack of community representation in the party's newly formed executive committees at the state and city levels.

The demonstration saw protesters burning an effigy of BJP's city unit president, Sumit Mishra, and resorting to acts of vandalism as Mishra's photo on a nearby banner was defaced and torn down. Eyewitnesses reported that the protesters also disrupted the BJP office by blackening Mishra's nameplate.
