MISSISSIPPI (WKRG) — Four people broke fishing records in Mississippi in October, according to the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources.

Three records were set using conventional tackle, while the fourth was set with an electric reel.

The MDMR reported these catches:

Trevor Moncrief of Ocean Springs set the record for Gulf Flounder at 2 pounds, 1.6 ounces.

Marshall Slay Jr. of Vancleave took the record for Anchor Tilefish with his 14.4-ounce fish.

Biloxi resident Scott Thibodeaux set the record for Silk Snapper with a fish that weighed 2 pounds, 13.6 ounces.

Twelve-year-old Cooper Wrightson of Ocean Springs set the record for Spanish Flag, with his 12.8-ounce fish.
