MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A head-on crash in the North Valley sent several people to the hospital.
It happened Monday night on Highway 99 and Gateway Drive in Madera.
Police say a van and a Honda collided head-on, causing the van to nearly go off an embankment.
"Definitely a scary situation, we are glad everyone is alive and well in this situation," says Madera Police Cpl. Kayla Bianchi. "We are glad, obviously, the van did not go over the curb right there, but definitely a good scenario for everyone to walk away from. We are happy everyone's okay."
People in both cars were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.
Police say drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
