OMAHA, Neb. —

The man accused of robbing and assaulting a staff member at Methodist Hospital received bond for an alleged assault in jail.

Mocktavin Dial is charged with second-degree assault after allegedly strangling a corrections officer . He was arrested earlier this month for an alleged assault at a parking garage near 83rd and Dodge streets.

According to court documents, Dial refused to go inside his assigned cell Sunday at the Douglas County jail. He refused to comply with staff instructions and had to be taken to the ground.

Dial continued to resist while staff were trying to put him into restraints, the court document states. During the incident, Dial allegedly grabbed the collar of an officer's uniform and began twisting.
