A young working woman faced a terrifying experience on Monday evening when a US-based aggregator (Uber) ride turned into a nightmare on her way home from Mohali to Chandigarh.

According to a complaint filed with the police, the woman booked an Uber cab around 6 pm from Mohali Industrial Area, Phase 8. The app showed the driver’s name as Baldeep, with cab number PB01E9028. The car arrived on time, and she got in.

However, just minutes into the ride, the driver began playing loud music. When the passenger politely asked him to lower the volume, he responded rudely. Moments later, he changed the drop location on the app without her permission. When she objected, he stopped the car in a dark and deserted stretch and forced her to get out.
